Town topple league leaders
Enfield Town 1 Bognor Regis Town 0
Enfield Town kept their outside play-off hopes alive with this hard earned victory over Bognor Regis Town. Their first half performance was outstanding and, although the second half was less entertaining for the purists, the three points were nevertheless fully merited.
In the third minute, home striker Dernell Wynter found himself though on goal with only Dan Lincoln to beat, but the visitors keeper came off his line to win the one-one-one situation.
A Mark Kirby header was blocked, and Karl Oliyide fired over. In between Jimmy Wild was off target for the Rocks. Jon Muleba headed back to his keeper Nathan McDonald with Ollie Pearce threatening. In the 20th minute, Tyler Campbell crossed from the right, and Harry Ottaway's dummy saw the ball fall to Scott Shulton, but he couldn't quite get the ball out from under his feet.
For the visitors, Doug Tuck's effort was deflected to safety and a Gary Charman header from Pearce's free kick was saved relatively comfortably. But the decisive goal of the game arrived around the half hour mark. Scott Shulton picked up Campbell's pass and sent a diagonal ball through for Oliyide to run onto, and the former Hendon man placed his shot superbly wide of Lincoln's dive to the delight of the home fans, buoyed by the contingent of YBSK Beveren fans over from Belgium for the day.
Ottaway and Wynter had chances to extend Town's lead, but Sami El Abd shot wide with McDonald scampering across to cover as the half time whistle sounded with the game very much in the balance.

As Town continued to look for the second goal, Shulton fired over, the hosts' Harold Joseph made a vital block to preseve the home side's slender lead with McDonald beaten. Substitute Oscar Haynes-Brown then tested McDonald.
From James Fraser's 67th minute free kick, Wild's effort was wide of the mark, and then, at the other end Ottaway's acrobatic overhead kick from Shulton's pass sailed harmlessly over. On 73 minutes Campbell shot narrowly over as the clock ticked away on Bognor's attempts to get back into the game. In truth, apart from a few dangerous set pieces, the home defence dug in and held firm and indeed Shulton could have increased the lead with a header over from Ottaway's square header to him.
After keeper Lincoln had come up for a couple of late dead ball situations, it looked as though Town had a promising breakaway from a clearance but a covering defender averted the danger as Shulton looked to shoot towards an unguarded net from distance. McDonald was then fouled after a huge melee in the home boax had had a few Town hearts in mouths. There was just sufficient time for Fraser's shot at the death to be tipped round the post by McDonald - although the ball may have been going just wide he was taking no chances - before Town could celebrate their narrow, but deserved, victory which has opened up the Ryman Premier title race going into the final few weeks of the season.
