More points dropped

Ware 2 Enfield Town 2
Town disappointingly dropped more points in their quest for the title in a scrappy encounter with lowly Ware, on a freezing night with ice balls littering the 3G pitch.
Louis Taaffe replaced the suspended Mason Tunbridge and bagged a useful 55 minutes run out in his comeback, but there were few other bright spots in the performance or the result.
The game was scrappy throughout though the surface allowed both teams to play, but from the off Town regularly lost the ball cheaply in possession, or gave it away too easily, encouraging a Ware side with a sprinkling of first team players to up their tempo and pressurise Town at every opportunity.
Junior Mubiayi twice broke through early on but chose to pass rather than take a strike, whilst Ware created several chances of their own at the other end through hesitant defending, forcing one fine save from Teddy Reynolds. It was Town who took the lead on 22 minutes when Taaffe's corner was not cleared and Dan Heald stroked the ball home from close range.
The goal should have settled Town, but they allowed Ware straight back into the game when they attacked down the left and a low cross into the box attracted defenders beyond the near post leaving the centre forward with a tap in. Just before the break Ware took the lead with another close range goal, which should have been prevented.
At half time Town were forced into a change with Mc Intosh injured and replaced by Kobi Coker, whilst Taaffe as replaced on 55 minutes by impressive debutant Samson Esan. Town started to look a little brighter and equalised when Reynolds threw the ball to Mc Kennon whose long ball sent Davison away. Having shrugged off a defender he bore down on goal and thrashed a shot into the corner with the keeper well beaten.
Whilst Ware occasionally threatened, Town now looked the better side. Gench replaced Doyle wide on the left as the pace was stepped up, but all too often the final ball was poor or choice of pass was the wrong one. Mubiayi had a goal bound shot deflected for a corner and there were several scrambles which came to nothing.
From the bench a goal looked to be coming, but with the assistant confirming there was a minute to play plus added time for 6 substitutions and injury stoppages, the referee surprisingly blew the whistle and perhaps another 5 minutes may have produced a winner.
Now Town have to up their game in the remaining fixtures and simply cannot afford to drop any more points.
