Another win for the U 23's

Hertford Town 1 Enfield Town 4
On a cold and frosty night in Hertford, with a squad down to the bare bones of just 15 players, Town still came up with another 3 points in their pursuit of the title. It was very much a stop, start performance from Town though they dominated possession for long spells against a combative Hertford looking to avenge a defeat earlier in the season.
Town started brightly and looked the better side in the opening exchanges without really threatening the home goal and their opening strike came from a free kick centrally outside the area. Once the wall was lined up, Kyle Lynch stepped up to pop the ball over the wall and into the corner of the goal with the keeper nowhere.
The goal encouraged Town and they enjoyed a good spell which ended with the ever hard working Jamie Doyle firing a low shot past the keeper. Hertford enjoyed their share of the ball however, but offered little threat up front and Teddy Reynold's in goal was never really threatened.
Half time disrupted Town's flow with their play becoming disjointed and Hertford looked the better side in the opening exchanges of the second half. Town were giving the ball away regularly, so it was no surprise when Dan Heald's attempted clearance went straight to a Hertford and seconds later the ball was in the net.
Town wobbled for a while as Hertford poured forward, but once they regained their composure and scored twice in as many minutes, the game was safe. Both goals were fashioned down the left hand side, with first coming from Blue Gallagher and the second when substitute Nej Gench fired the ball across the 6 yard box for Junior Mubiayi to bundle home at the far post.
Hertford never gave up and Reynolds was called upon to make one fine save, but in the end Town ran out comfortable winners for another 3 valuable points.
