Volunteers Needed To Help The Club This Summer

6 days ago By Dean Vale

As a 'supporter owned' community club we are dependent on our loyal supporters and volunteers from the community to help sustain the club.

This Saturday at the Staines game and the next home game against Brightlingsea Regent, there will be two gazebos at the stadium where we will be looking to speak to anyone who is able to offer their time and effort to help out with two essential tasks at the club as one of our invaluable volunteers.

YOU can help YOUR Club - We welcome anyone to come along for a chat and register with us as a volunteer. Whatever time and effort you can spare, whatever you can do to help, it does not matter what age you are, what your ability or skills are, if you are keen to get involved, we would love to speak to you. With limited resources as a club, any kind of help is welcome and for those that do, it is a great way to be part of our continued success and get to know a great bunch of local people and supporters.

There are two main events we are looking for help with:

1. Maintenance Day
Stadium Manager Dave Farenden and Eric A have made a list of maintenance works which need doing around the ground to keep it in a good state of repair and in good order, such as painting, cleaning, sweeping and even an electrician to put some new access to power at an area of the ground. There are lots of general maintenance items to be carried out, which is a usual end of season event, but this year we are targeting a specific "helpers day" on Sunday 15th April. We are asking you to sign up and help, bringing any special skills or just assist with more general items. The day will kick off at 10.00am.

2. The Conifa World Football Competition
As you will be aware we have been selected to hold several Cup games over the period 31st May - 9th June. We have specific fixtures and are recruiting volunteers to help run match days. We require some assistance around the ground and surrounding car park etc, to help the Teams and supporters arrive and enjoy their QEII experience. We will be looking for match day stewards and volunteers to help around the stadium. Most notably we need assistance on the 31st May and the 2nd/3rd of June when the most anticipated matches will take place. This will not only help with the organisation of the event, but will also help the club bring-in much needed valuable revenue to sustain the club and prepare for next season.

If you are interested in helping out around the club, either at the maintenance day or The Conifa World Football Competition matches, or in some other way, please come along to the gazebos on Saturday, have a chat with the guys and girls at there and sign up! - It is as simple as that. All help and assistance will of course, be greatly appreciated.

Alternatively you can email us with your details at and we will get in-touch.

Thank you for your support.
