Denham were yet another team that we had never played before. However, Enfield were confident that they could give a good account of themselves in this match. The game started in a positive fashion for our girls as they worked hard to compete with what was obliviously a good Denham team. Their hard work was rewarded with the first goal of the game from Daisy. But Denham responded well and they scored the next goal. With the game evenly posed it seemed that the team that scored the next goal would gain a significant advantage in the match. And so it proved with Denham taking one of their chances while Enfield laboured in front of goal. However, at half time with the score 2-1 in favour of Denham, it seemed that another close half was in prospect. Unfortunately for Enfield this proved not to be the case. From the start of the half Denham seemed that little bit sharper than Enfield and this edge was quickly translated into a number of goals that took the game away from Enfield. Enfield's cause was not helped by a number of defensive errors and a profligate approach in front of goal. However, nothing should be taken away from a very good 2nd half performance by Denham. Enfield goal scorers were Daisy and Erin. The latters goal being a fantastic long range shot from the right wing. Erin's first appearance as a forward for the team, in which she worked hard both on and off the ball, combined with her excellent goal, won her the Enfield player of the match award.
